What is SkinPen?
SkinPen Precision is a professional microneedling device. It creates thousands of tiny, controlled channels in the skin. Those trigger your body's own healing response, which means new collagen and elastin.
The aim isn't to make the surface look better for a week. We're asking the skin to do some work. Over the weeks after treatment, that renewal carries on.

Does microneedling hurt?
Most clients find it comfortable rather than painful. A numbing cream goes on first, and I check in with you the whole way through. You'll feel it, and some areas feel different to others, but it's nowhere near as daunting as people expect.
In fact, I've never had a client tell me they found SkinPen uncomfortable. I have clients who enjoy having it done.

We check, prep and numb
We check your skin first and make sure SkinPen is right for you. Your skin is prepped and numbing cream goes on. Then I work methodically across the area at carefully chosen depths, checking in as I go.
Afterwards we go through your aftercare and you take home the products you need for the first few days.

The first 24 hours
What you’ll look like afterwards
Straight after, your skin will be red. That settles through pink to a flushed look, usually within 24 hours. By the next day most clients look a bit flushed and get on with their day. Occasionally redness lasts longer, but it's not common.

For a noticeable change, I'll usually recommend three treatments, about a month apart. It gives us consistency instead of asking one treatment to do all the work.

How much downtime will I need?
Around 24 hours of visible redness, settling to pink or flushed. Some clients see redness for longer, but it's unusual.
Can I wear makeup afterwards?
Not for at least 24 hours.
Do I have to book three?
No. A single treatment is still a good collagen boost. For longer-term change, I'd recommend a course.
Is SkinPen the same as Liquid Microneedling?
No. SkinPen uses precision needles to make controlled channels. Liquid Microneedling (Lira Clinical Green Power) uses naturally derived spicules and no needles. Both have a place at Pearl, at different stages.
I'm not sure SkinPen is right for me.
